Warranty Policy

Effective June 2025.

M2 Overland Limited ("M2 Overland", "we", "us") provides this Limited Warranty to the original purchaser ("Client") for products manufactured and supplied by M2 Overland ("Goods").

This warranty reflects how our products are designed to be used – in demanding trade and recreational environments – while providing fair protection against genuine manufacturing defects.

1. WARRANTY COVERAGE

1.1 What is covered

M2 Overland warrants that the Goods are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for the Warranty Period.

Where a valid defect is confirmed, M2 Overland will, at its discretion:

  • Repair the Goods; or
  • Replace the defective component; or
  • Supply an equivalent replacement.

1.2 What is not considered a defect

The following are not considered defects:

  • Cosmetic wear including scratches, dents, chips, fading, or oxidation;
  • Minor movement, flex, or noise consistent with vehicle-mounted systems;
  • Wear resulting from regular use, including off-road vibration and load movement;
  • Environmental exposure (UV, salt, chemicals, dust).

2. WARRANTY CONDITIONS

This warranty only applies if:

  • The Goods remain fitted to the original vehicle;
  • The Client remains the original purchaser;
  • The vehicle remains road legal and compliant, including GVM and axle limits;
  • The Goods are used within their intended design limits.

Failure to meet these conditions may void the warranty.

3. USE LIMITATIONS

M2 Overland products are designed for trade and recreational use. This warranty does not cover:

  • Use in extreme commercial environments (e.g. mining, forestry, agriculture) unless approved in writing;
  • Competitive use, racing, or abusive operation;
  • Severe off-road use involving impact loading, jumping, or misuse of recovery equipment;
  • Operating conditions that exceed normal 4WD touring expectations.

4. STRUCTURAL AND MOUNTING DEFECTS

4.1 Load validation

For claims involving structural or mounting components, M2 Overland may request evidence of vehicle load history.

Acceptable evidence may include:

  • Certified weighbridge dockets;
  • Fleet telematics data;
  • Approved third-party load tracking systems.

Failure to provide sufficient evidence may result in claim denial.

4.2 Load responsibility

The Client is responsible for ensuring:

  • The vehicle operates within GVM and axle limits;
  • Loads are correctly distributed and secured;
  • Roof loads remain within specified ratings.

4.3 Operating conditions

Vehicle-mounted systems are subject to dynamic forces during use, including acceleration, braking, cornering, vibration, and off-road terrain. These forces can exceed static load conditions and are considered normal operating conditions.

4.4 Vehicle interface and structural components

The Goods are mounted to vehicle-supplied mounting points and structural components that are designed and manufactured by the vehicle manufacturer and are outside the control of M2 Overland.

M2 Overland is not responsible for failure, cracking, fatigue, or deformation of:

  • Vehicle chassis rails;
  • Factory mounting points or brackets;
  • Body mounts or associated structural components;

where such failure results from:

  • Load transfer through the vehicle during normal or off-road use;
  • Repeated vibration, flex, or dynamic loading;
  • Operation near or at vehicle load limits.

Any claim involving vehicle structural components must clearly demonstrate that the failure was directly caused by a manufacturing defect in the Goods.

4.5 Load transfer and fatigue

Vehicle-mounted systems inherently transfer loads into the vehicle structure during operation. Over time, repeated dynamic loading may contribute to fatigue or failure of vehicle components. These effects are considered normal operational conditions and are not covered under this warranty.

5. INSTALLATION AND MODIFICATIONS

5.1 Installation

Warranty applies only where the Goods are:

  • Installed by M2 Overland; or
  • Installed by an approved partner; or
  • Installed in accordance with M2 Overland specifications.

5.2 Modifications

This warranty is void if the Goods are:

  • Modified, drilled, welded, or altered;
  • Fitted with unapproved accessories affecting structure or load paths;
  • Subject to electrical modification or tampering.

6. ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS

M2 Overland electrical systems are designed to integrate with modern vehicles. This warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by third-party wiring or battery systems;
  • Over-voltage, short circuits, or incorrect installation;
  • Water ingress resulting from misuse, modification, or external factors.

7. MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS

To maintain warranty, the Client must:

  • Regularly check and tighten all fasteners;
  • Lubricate moving components (locks, hinges, slides);
  • Keep seals clean and free of debris;
  • Avoid high-pressure washing directly at seals and electrical components;
  • Ensure electrical connections remain secure.

Failure to maintain the Goods may void the warranty.

8. THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS

For Goods not manufactured by M2 Overland:

  • Warranty is limited to that provided by the original manufacturer;
  • M2 Overland may assist with claims but is not liable for outcomes.

This clause does not limit any rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

9. EXCLUSIONS

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear components (gas struts, seals, locks, fasteners, slides);
  • Timber components (warping, swelling, shrinkage, splitting);
  • Consumables (grease, tapes, adhesives);
  • Surface finish degradation from UV, salt, or chemicals;
  • Water ingress under extreme conditions, including pressure washing or water crossings;
  • Goods installed by non-approved third parties;
  • Structural damage caused by unapproved modifications or additional loads;
  • Transport, freight, travel, or accommodation costs;
  • Loss of use, downtime, or consequential losses.

10. WARRANTY CLAIM PROCESS

To make a claim, the Client must:

  • Notify M2 Overland as soon as the issue becomes apparent;
  • Cease use where continued use may cause further damage;
  • Provide:
    • Proof of purchase;
    • Evidence of the defect (photos/video);
    • Supporting information if requested.

M2 Overland may require the Goods to be inspected or returned for assessment. Claims are processed during business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm).

11. WARRANTY PERIOD

M2 Overland provides a 3-year limited warranty from the date of delivery. This does not affect any rights the Client may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

12. COSTS AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

M2 Overland's liability is limited to the repair or replacement of defective Goods. M2 Overland is not liable for:

  • Installation or removal costs unless agreed;
  • Freight or transport costs;
  • Indirect or consequential losses.

13. TRANSFERABILITY

This warranty:

  • Applies only to the original purchaser;
  • Applies only to the original vehicle;
  • Is non-transferable.

14. COMMERCIAL USE

Where Goods are acquired for business purposes, the Client agrees that the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 may be contracted out of as permitted by law.
